Revolution on the confectionery shelf
As part of a joint project, nine renowned companies in the confectionery industry have joined forces under the name CONNECT to develop an industrial process to produce true 3D jellies. There are countless different types of fruit gums and jellies, but they all have at least one flat side or an unattractive depositing hole. With this new process, a worldwide first, truly three-dimensional figures can be created that always look their best from every angle.
The aim of the partnership network is to combine the best technology and engineers in the confectionery industry. Pooling resources and knowledge enables the companies to bring real innovations to the confectionery market, including a fully functional and unique 3D product.
With its high-quality pectins, Herbstreith & Fox is making a significant contribution to the quality and uniqueness of the new product development, helping to establish CONNECT as a successful and attractive concept for the confectionery industry.
Alongside Herbstreith & Fox on the CONNECT team are the companies Chocotech, Esarom, Kaupert, Norevo, Paradise Fruits Solutions, and Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen, as well as TU Dresden and the ZDS (Central College of the German Confectionery Industry).
The starting gun has been fired: The website for the CONNECT Development Association went live a few days ago. Further information about CONNECT is available on the website and the associated LinkedIn profile.
The development association will present the concept at an exclusive online event for confectionery manufacturers around the world on 28 October 2020.
